Buy Domains UPDATE
BuyDomains Goes International: Now Offering Int'l TLDs and Int'l Translation
In keeping with the global economy, Buy Domains has expanded our registration services to enable corporate and international customers to register domain names in over 150 country code TLDs (ccTLDs). We now offer sites in ccTLDs such as .de (Germany), .cn (China), .com.mx (Mexico), and .br (Brazil) for the increasingly integrated global community. To learn more about our new ccTLDs visit www.buydomains.com and click on the International Registration Link on our homepage. Additional information and FAQs can be found in our info section as well.
To go along with our International advancements, we also translated our homepage and info pages into four languages most frequently spoken by our international customers. Spanish, Italian, French and German versions are live on the site with more languages to follow. In order to view a foreign language version of the site, go to the browser's preferences or Internet options and switch the primary language to "Spanish (.es)" or "Italian (.it)" and a flag appears on the home page navigation bar. This is just another way that Buy Domains has catered to the needs of our diverse customers.

Mobile Access to Buy Domains
Buy Domains now offers mobile access to our customers. Thanks to the development of Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), customers can register domain names from practically anywhere. Mobile users now have the ability to instantly register any available domain name from wireless devices such as cell phones, PDA's and pagers in real-time. The ever-increasing popularity of personal digital assistants and the high demand for instant Internet access from remote locations has created a huge interest in WAP. The WAP technology allows for highly efficient communication across the numerous wireless networks. Because of our strong focus on customer service, Buy Domains feels that it is necessary to lead the industry in innovative services in order to keep up with the fast-paced business professional.

INDUSTRY UPDATE
.Info and .Biz are Right Around the Corner
Two of the seven recently approved TLDs are officially on the market. Currently open only to trademark and service mark holders, .biz and .info domains will be available to the public after early registration periods end. NeuLevel of Virginia is the registrar for the .biz TLD, which will only be available to commercial businesses. NeuLevel is composed of the Lockheed Martin spin-off NeuStar, and the Australian owner of INWW, Melbourne IT. The .info registrar, Afilias, is a registry of ICANN accredited registrars based in Ireland. Afilias recently brought on a new CEO, Ronald Berg of Idealab!, to lead the company in its latest offering. Both companies expect a large global demand for the new TLDs, but recognize the need to make names first available to those with property rights. The .info registrar is running early registration through July 9, and the .biz registrar will begin its 30 day "sunrise" registration period toward the end of June. After these periods, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will handle any intellectual property disputes before opening registration to the public.

NSI, Register.com, and Afternic.com Face RICO Lawsuit
Earlier this month, a businessman from Florida filed suit against Network Solutions, Register.com, and Afternic.com for misrepresentation, dealing in stolen domain names, and alleged fraud. The Internet savvy businessman Rick Schwartz has thousands of domain names and millions of dollars, plus a ton of experience in the domain name industry. He regularly speculates on domains, and owns many site rating and --sucks.com complaint Websites. He purchased a name from the Afternic.com auction site for over $60,000 through an escrow service. Nearly a month after his purchase, Network Solutions transferred his name back to its original owners. He made several attempts to contact Afternic, Network Solutions, and the name's registrar, Register.com with no success. Apparently, the name he purchased at auction was not owned by the lister. The only recourse available to Schwartz was a lawsuit. Among the charges pending is a claim of false advertising against Afternic, which touts itself as the only "safe" way to purchase domain names on the secondary market.

FTC Warns Against Registration Scams
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alerts domain name purchasers to the latest domain name registration scam. The scam involves offering pre-registration for the new TLDs that are not yet available, as well as registration of unapproved TLDs. Some registration services are spamming guaranteed offers of registration for names including the .aero, .biz, .coop, .info, .museum, .name, and .pro extensions without authorization. Five of the new ICANN approved domains are not yet available to anyone, while the other two (.biz and .info) are currently offering limited registration. The registration procedures and eligibility criteria have yet to be determined for remaining TLDs. The FTC says that registration services claiming to increase one's chances of owning a new TLD are bogus. Also, names including the country codes or unofficial extensions may receive less traffic and may be inaccessible via email. Although they are increasing in popularity, country code names may be governed by the country's laws.

VeriSign Lays Off Staff
Despite beating its first quarter forecasts, California based VeriSign Inc. was forced to make staff cuts in various areas including a large percentage of Network Solutions and Great Domains employees. These cuts are aimed at reducing the overlap of positions from VeriSign's merger with Network Solutions Inc. last June. The magnitude of the layoffs is undisclosed, but the employees laid off will receive severance pay. The Network Solutions staff is currently over twice the size of the VeriSign staff.

SELECTING A PROFITABLE DOMAIN NAME
A carefully selected domain name is the foundation for Internet success. A name that is relevant, logical, and concise will bring the high traffic and recognition needed to not only keep an e-business afloat, but to make it financially sound. Below are a few helpful tips when searching for and purchasing a premium domain.
The name should be related to the site's content so that when potential clients search by key words in search engines, the site will show up.
It is important that the name make sense to anyone searching the Web for the site. The use of multiple domain names that cover all related keywords, for the same site also generates more traffic and serves as a strong marketing machine.
Also, be sure to remember that although domain names can include numbers and hyphens, the more complicated the name, the less likely the site will get default traffic.
Although .com is still king, the increasingly global focus of today's society may call for international TLDs like .co.uk and .ca too. Adding additional ccTLDs to your existing domains will also bring in more traffic and allow you to cater to your international customers.
Once you find the perfect name or names, act fast! Tens of thousands of domain names are being registered and hundreds are being purchased on the secondary market everyday. So, although your first choice may not be available, Buy Domains has a library of nearly 50,000 premium domains to choose from. Using our advanced keyword search technology, you can search through hundreds of domains that cater to your interests and are available for sale.

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL
"Tell your boss that I am really impressed with your tech support. That was fast and efficient and did not drag on for days. It was even on a Sunday morning. I am very pleased with your company, you got my business and I will recommend you to anybody still with network solutions or the other high priced, overrated, and undervalued registrar companies.
Keep up the good work and have a good weekend."
Thanks again
